welcome, and good luck with your appointment! This site not only has information for you but a great support network of folks who have or are going to have surgery on heart valves. All different recoveries but no question usually goes unanswered. Take good care!

Welcome John. Dr. Gerdisch replaced my bicuspid aortic valve on 12/10/14. He is an excellent surgeon and I highly regard his skill, and his office staff is great too. The day of your appt I will be 3 months post op from my BAVR and I feel almost 100%. Walking about 2 miles every day and no shortness of breath!!

John, the surgery is your best shot to a better life so don't dwell on the surgery, but instead on the great life you will have after that. Instant fountain of youth!

John, I had my BAV replaced 4 months ago and I feel so much better now! No more shortness of breath or heaviness in my chest! The surgery and recovery is SO worth it! Isaiah 41:13 helped me get through surgery and Psalm 28:7 is now my song! Prayers and... Read more.
