Hello all.. I'm coming up 7 weeks Post-op. I'm doing good, not great but good. I'm still having back pain so My primary care physician has scheduled me for physical therapy starting Friday. I hope it helps. I also have pain on the right side of my chest. I see my cardiologist tomorrow, so hopefully she'll give me some answers/help on that front. It sucks being in constant pain for 7 weeks. But i know it will get better.

Hello everyone. I just wanted to update everyone. I was released on Monday morning at 11am. A day earlier than they had planed. I was out walking before the physical therapist came to see me, so we talked she had me do some stairs and released me from PT since I was already doing what I needed to. I'm so glad to be home and in my bed. Still having back and shoulder pain but sleeping in my bed has helped. I spoke with my Nurse practitioner on thursday and she added Ibuprofen the my pain med regiment, which helped more than the oxy/Tylenol mix they had me on. Thank you everyone for the love, prayers, good vibes, and helping me thru this all. ♡

Roseline Rosario Yay Jody...so happy to hear you're well and in good spirits. I'm looking up to you guys...the ones before me as an example to follow. Wanna give a lady any tips.?..my new surgery date is Oct 10 and I must admit that my whole spirit sunk..3rd date. But reading how well you guys ace doing with your recovery reassures me. You are so inspiring. Attitude is the main peace of the puzzle. Keep going!

Hello everyone. I am doing well. My surgery was Thursday. The surgery went well, no compilations. I was out of the ICU by Thursday at 3:30. I'm having more pain in back and shoulders than the scar on my chest from the surgery. Due to the back pain it's been hard to sleep at night.

Priscila Marino My pain was all located in the shoulders and back as well..... I am 4 1/2 weeks post op and still suffer with my shoulders.
The best thing for me on those first days were hot packs and my sister's massage with tigers balm.
Pain meds were good for nothing and I soon quit taking them..... I starded on tylenol after 10 days and what really helped me sleep were the tylenol pm I took every night!

Hope yoy feel better soon :)

Tonight is my last night at home. Once I finish work tomorrow it's off to san Francisco. I have my pre-op bright and early on Wednesday morning. After which I'll spend the rest of my day on the beach in San Francisco. Then on the 22nd I have to check into the Hospital at 5:15 am to begin my heart valve replacement Journey. I keep have brief moments of panic, but I take a deep breath and calm myself down. I know I can get thru this and come out the other side feeling a heck of a lot better.

Nancy Lewis Missed this one Jody, I just sent you a note. Good luck today and tomorrow. I know about the panic, I heard my own voice say "I'm not going to do this." But I think I was dreaming. It wasn't a conscientious.
Whew, you have me beat on the 22nd. 5:15? I don't have to be there until 6. Ha ha. Of course with the time difference, you have the last laugh.

I had a good appointment yesterday with my surgeon. Less than 2 weeks to go tell my surgery on Sept 22nd in San Francisco. I'll being going to my Preop appointment on the 21st. I just need to stay away from my sick Co workers tell then. Everyone seems to be getting a cold.

Shannon Sullivan oh dear, Jody I totally understand your staying away from sick co workers. I am right behind you with surgery on the 28th....everytime i hear someone cough or sneeze around me...i tense up and want to run in the other direction.
