The latest, went to check the pacemaker today well now we have the opposite of Afib or form of it, I need what is called a TEE-CV. Anyone have it, doctor, does not seemed very concerned, said it needs a zap to get to a normal rythem (sp) sped up too fast, need to slow it down, will be out patient and home the same day, BP and all is fine, but I want to scream, I don't do well being knocked out. Advice or thoughts anyone, back on Warfarin, scheduled for 3/13. Thanks, I thought the mitral valve was enough, it's the gift that keeps on giving, thank heaven, I love and trust her and she's so calming.
Afternoon all, had my final appt with the surgeon, he told me that while I thought that I was waking around with the flu it was double pneumonia (which, I think) that I've said before. He told me that is when we found you to have heart murmur and your mitral valve was damaged, so he said when we open you, you MVP so bad is was bleed, all in the back of my heart, so instead of repair, he opted to take a vein and build a new 1, he also opted 2 place 2 bovine bypasses in the be totally safe. I'm done with all med's and I'm free, to live, as I please. He even apologized for allowing me to go stir crazy (putting it mildly), in ICU. I don't have to see him again. When over for my last INR only took from June to now to get to 2.0,, saw my cardio doc (love her) and I see her in late November. I wish each and every one of you great speed, I feel like a million bucks, in 3 months flat. God Bless. :heart
As of Tuesday, my doctor said to stop the Lipitor, I'm breaking out, in rashes and hives and to take 2 benadryl, a day, if it's not the Lipitor, it's got to be the Warfrain (sp) anyone know how long it takes, for this, to get our our system? I'm sick of scratching, you'd think that I had chicken pox or something, other than that, I'm at 100%. Have a good weekend all and get the rest and may you all be well soon! :heart
Update: Got the all clear to live my life, Not even 3 months yet...thrilled but nervous, she told us, to fly or book a cruise and just get away for a bit. I hope everyone is doing well and I'm thankful for this page cause it truly helped all along. Thank you Adam for creating it. MUAH
Regarding your dinners, can anyone tell me what you are making and I'm very confused about what greens, if any, we can eat. I feel like a total idiot cause looking, at the list that they provided, I might, as well fast, it all looks horrible, but thankfully, we both like fish. Thank you. Oh and stay cool, too.
Thanks all, I'll consider the rehab after we find out what is going on with my husband if anything, as for the greens, I think that we have decided to just stick to a small salad, each night, you all are so helpful, I'd be lost with out you and I have my INR done, at my doctor's office, not a clinic, they just told me that if I eat greens, to make sure it's the same amount, each night, Also I'd been on this back, in 07 and never had any food restrictions and the numbers were always fine. Thanks again and enough your weekend :) :)
'm 2 months out I do not want to do rehab, I have the attention span of a gnat, my husband needs a cardio cath on Wed, his EKG and Echo were fine, but found an abnormality during his stress test and this is what they want me to deal with, screw off, I believe, it's my option to attend or not and yes, my insurance will pay for it, I see my Cardio doc on the 24th, but I need my INR done each week and we can't hit a even level today was 1.9,
6 weeks out..has anyone ever felt sore, on 1 side, because you were stupid, feeling good and pushing furniture and thinking you were normal and never had surgery, NO pain, just a sore feeling on very upper right side
At just over a month, feeling great, really, but get a little dizzy and it's pill connected, but not sure, to which 1, they say I should be off all med's come Sept, they also said don't push it, but by the 11 day, I was dressing myself and I'm not a spring chicken. Sort of proud of myself, however, still don't want to be out, in crowds, since I live, at the beach and we get very crowded. I do have 1 problem, I'm eating myself, out of house and home cause it tastes so good and the hospital food was truly horrible. So that is my story, I hope everyone is doing well and wishing all who still will be doing this great success. <3
Finally home and what, a hell, of a ride. He replaced the mitral value with a vein from my leg, he did 2 bypass and if that wasn't fun enough (this was done on the first) then 3 day's later went into AFib Back into the OR. My brains got fried from the money juice, too much drugs and twilight sleep within too short a time. So that is my nightmare and it's nice to be back home, Hope you are all doing well
Just got my call, I'm the first case tomorrow and have to be, at the hospital, at 5:45. I know that I have 1 of the best surgeons going and everyone that I've met said this is the man, you want. So, I'm just a tad nervous and I hope they knock me out enough, as not to remember, anything. He is going to try a repair on the mitral valve if he can or a new one and instead of a stent, he wants 1 bypass. Thoughts? Thanks you.
I have a question. Please tell me it's normal to be very nervous 2 weeks before and not sleeping well and just generally being a wreck because of the unknown. I think that I'm driving myself around the bend and want to know if any of you have experienced this Thank you
I am due to have a mitral valve repair on 6/1. They found it when I had pneumonia and taken to ER mid January. Evidently, I had a heart murmur since a child. Impressed with my surgeon and yep, nervous. Glad that I found this site, I'm seeing this is much more common than I thought.
