Almost 5 weeks post surgery. It’s a tale of two cities. The first two weeks were more difficult than expected, especially the week in the hospital. Usual complications that the medical team anticipated and handled. The recovery at home started slow. My son got me out to walk at a local sporting good store. The next day home PT came and gave me exercises and guidelines. By week three I was walking, doing PT twice a day and stationary bike. I kept moving, slowly, following the professional advice. I was weary about overdoing it. Week five and I’m sleeping normally, climbing stairs without thinking, walking 20 minute miles, riding stationary bike breaking a sweat, driving, and in general feeling close to normal. I worked hard at getting ready pre surgery and worked hard at my PT. I’m optimistic about the future
