Send Valarie a NoteAbout Me
I have had a heart murmur all my life , but various drs have had varying ideas what was causing it. As a member of the marching band in high school I would get out of breath during practice, but otherwise had no other symptoms growing up.
It was only as an adult that they discovered it was BAV, had palpitations quite a bit but nothing else. Until about 7 years ago, I started getting tired, short of breath, more frequent palpitations.
Now, at 63, in otherwise good shape health wise (save a pound or too I could stand to lose) my dr said my stenosis is at 37, 40 being considered severe. She wants me to have a valve replacement.
So far, have not met with a heart surgeon. She recommended one that is not in my insurance network, so this is going to be fun.
I am so glad to have found this community! People to talk to and ask questions! Can't wait to make new friends!
