Send Pat a NoteAbout Me
My procedure: Ross, with dacron reinforced graft.
always been very active and in great health. 2 years ago on a routine exam a primary care physician told me I had a heart murmur. I couldn't believe. I've raced bicycles for 40 years and after being struck once by a car and left unconscious in the road, I spent the night in a cardiac unit, but no one ever had told me I had a bicuspid valve or aortic stenosis. Well, as I became an asymptomatic severe bicuspid AS, with an aortic aneurysm, it was time to seek the right surgeon. I decided to put my faith in Katherine Harrington at BSW Heart Hospital Plano, Tx. Two weeks post-op and things couldn't be going any better. Walked a mile the day they released me from the hospital. Walked two miles on my 1 week anniversary and today walked 3 miles, and I live at 4200 feet of elevation. Other than when I cough, I have been absolutely pain free. Don't let anyone tell you 65 is too old for a Ross if you're in otherwise great shape!!
