About Dr. Katherine Harrington,
Heart Valve Surgeon
Hello! My name is Dr. Katherine Harrington and I am a cardiac surgeon having graduated from Stanford School of Medicine in 2007. Read more...
I believe my greatest strength is that I love what I do. I have a real passion for cardiac surgery and helping my patients. I pride myself on taking the time to fully explain every part of the procedure and answer any and all questions my patients have. I enjoy doing complex surgery and redo operations.
I was the first person in the country to complete the new integrated cardiac surgery training program, which means I did 6 years of training in cardiovascular surgery instead of 2 or 3.
This means I also have extra training in minimally invasive and endovascular approaches to cardiovascular disease.

"In March 2020, Dr. Katherine Harrington performed aortic valve replacement on me. I had two surgeries before, all heart surgeries. My family consulted two other doctors, The doctors all said it would be a very risky surgery because it's my third surgery. I was 72 years old.
But Dr. Harrington, without any hesitation, performed the surgery successfully. My self and my family are very thankful to Dr. Harrington and her staff."
-- Venugopal Muraliraj, Aortic Valve, Valve Replacement, 03/06/2020

-- Vernon Todd, Mitral Valve, Valve Replacement, Median Sternotomy, 09/13/2019
"Dr. Harrington was nothing short of fantastic. While I had known for a few years I would need to have surgery to repair an ascending aortic aneurysm and aortic valve replacement due to my bicuspid aortic valve, when the time came and I found myself at only 40 years old it was no less scary.
Dr. Harrington walked me through each part of the process, and even spent time with my wife and I on the Thursday before the surgery to ensure we were prepared. The surgery went flawless, and the care I received throughout my time at the Heart Hospital in Plano was second to none. I would fully recommend Dr. Harrington and her team to anyone if you need to have this type of procedure.
Now at five weeks post surgery I am feeling great, I am in cardiac rehab feeling , and returning to work thanks to Dr. Harrington will have many years ahead of me to enjoy my family."
-- Nate Kuhns, Aortic Valve, Valve Replacement, 04/23/2019

"I was referred to Dr Kathryn Harrington by my cardiologist . Dr Harrington answered all my pre and post surgery questions. She is a very confident and smart surgeon. My recovery was quick and I was able to get back to work after my 3 weeks post surgery follow up visit. I will say that Dr Harrington is a great tool in Gods hands and I cant recommend her enough. "
-- David Mbonu, Aortic Valve, Pulmonary Valve, Valve Replacement, 02/25/2019
"Dr. Harrington performed 3 procedures on my heart. My surgery took close to 6 hours @ The Heart Hospital-Baylor in Plano, TX on 1/21/2019. I am post-op almost 2 months, making an excellent recovery with no complications. (Beginning cardiac rehab shortly.) Her bedside manner, knowledge & professionalism were outstanding. At my post-op visit, I thanked her for saving my life. I would highly recommend Dr. Harrington."
-- Lawrence Tong, Aortic Valve, Valve Replacement, Median Sternotomy, Root Replacement, 01/21/2019
"After extensive research on trying to find my surgeon I selected Dr. Harrington. She is highly recommended. What a blessing she was before, during and after my surgery. Fully understanding I would need an aortic root replacement I was also expecting an aortic valve replacement as well. When most surgeons would have just replaced my valve Dr. Harrington was able to repair my valve with her excellent skills. This is a big deal which means the I have a high percentage of never having to have surgery again. Skills are excellent!"
-- David Moore, Aortic Valve, Valve Repair, Root Replacement, 11/27/2018

Fully understanding I would need an aortic root replacement, I was also expecting an aortic valve replacement as well. Dr. Harrington spent extra time was able to repair my valve with her excellent skills.....which means I have a high percentage of never having to have open heart surgery again. Her explanation of the procedure, bedside manners and follow up were awesome. She certainly looked out for my best interest and health. -- Sally Hill, Aortic Valve, Mitral Valve, Tricuspid Valve, Valve Repair, Valve Replacement, Median Sternotomy, 08/31/2018
"I recently had ascending aortic aneurysm repair and aortic valve replacement. Dr. Harrington is very relatable and made sure I understood whatever I needed to know about the procedure. She was extremely helpful when it came time for the procedure. The surgery went so well I can't complain about anything and would do it again(if I had to😉). I have heard people have issues with the way the sternum is repaired. Right after surgery mine felt solid and well put together. I have had no issues with movement or pain. Thank you Dr. Harrington."
-- Toby bauter, Aortic Valve, Valve Replacement, 06/13/2018
"Dr. Harrington did an OUTSTANDING job with my surgery. We met a few days before the procedure to discuss the process and what I should expect. The entire process was as smooth as she explained from check-in to check-out. The staff was great... Recovery was a snap and I was thrilled when I went in for my surgery follow-up appointment and she gave me 2 thumbs up. A great Cardiologist (Dr. David Brown), a great Surgeon (Dr. Katherine Harrington), a great team of recovery specialists (Nurses & Techs) are the winning combination that got me up and running again... A Team I can HIGHLY Recommend..."
-- Dennis O'Hagan, Aortic Valve, Valve Replacement, 04/27/2018
"I am a retired cardiac RN. My doctor did not refer me. I did some detailed due diligence on my own and found Dr. Harrington. I looked at the surgeons at the Cleveland Clinic and at Mayo Clinic researching where they went to medical school, where they did their residency, if the did a fellowship and if they won any awards along the way. I was unhappy with their results. I found the Heart Hospital Baylor Plano while searching for valve centers for excellence. I researched all the surgeons there and they all sounded excellent.
But, one statement written by Dr. Harrington on this website stood out to me. She wrote that she enjoyed complex surgeries and redo surgery. Right then, I knew I had found the surgeon for me.
I don’t care if my doctors are friendly or if they’re nice or if they have good rapport with their patients. None of that matters. All that matters is that your surgeon has exemplary skills in order to keep you alive for a long, long time.
I found Dr. Harrington to be stunningly detail oriented, calm, efficient, cutting-edge knowledgeable and very smart.
She was attentive to me and to my family. She visited me multiple times a day. All my questions were answered...sometimes before I could even ask.
I would see her again in a nanosecond if something happened to me and would refer any of my family or friends to her.
One more thing. If a doctors office is scattered and disorganized, I guarantee you will not receive the care you need and deserve. Dr. Harrington’s office is what I like to call “tight”. That is a compliment and not a put-down comment. This office is very organized. They will answer your questions before and after the surgery. They are so sweet and pleasant when they talk to you that they make you feel like you’re the only patient they have to talk to that day. If you leave a message, they call back promptly.
If you have to have surgery, complicated or not complicated, I feel no hesitation in telling you to see Dr. Harrington."
-- Racinda Ross, Aortic Valve, Valve Replacement, Mini Sternotomy, 02/27/2018
"I am only 40 years old and had to have my aortic valve replaced. Dr Harrington made me feel comfortable from the initial consultation in her office. She explained everything 100%. After meeting with her, I had my valve replaced the next week. She is simply amazing. I would highly recommend her. She answered every question that me and my wife had and made the bad situation that we were dealing with as pleasant as possible."
-- Gary Mullins, Aortic Valve, Valve Replacement, Mini Sternotomy, 01/23/2018
"I am so thankful that I was referred to Dr. Harrington by my cardiologist. Her skill in the minimally invasive surgery to replace my aortic valve was the best. Her after-care was attentive, constant, kind, and informative. She was in to check on me every day and multiple times a day for the first 3 days. All of the questions my family had were answered with kindness and respect. I saw her for my follow-up visit and she showed how pleased she was with my progress. I'll never forget what she said: "Now go and live life to the fullest!" As far as results, I feel better than I have in years. Had she not operated when she did, I would not be here to make these comments. Thanks Dr. Harrington!"
-- Janet Tillman, Aortic Valve, Valve Replacement, Mini Sternotomy, 12/26/2017
"Along with the aorta valve replacement a 5.5 cm aneurysm on the aorta was also removed. There were complications of severe inflamation caused by rheumatoid arthritis and medications which had to be considered prior to and during the surgery. Dr. Harrington exuded such confindince and made me feel very comfortable throughout the whole process. Even after the surgery she came by sometimes late at night and checked on me. I'm doing great."
-- Martha Healy, Aortic Valve, Valve Replacement, 10/25/2017
"Dr. Harrington has been amazing. This was my 2nd open heart surgery. I had a few complications but she got me threw it. Dr. Harrington answered all my family's questions and kept them informed. This was a tough time not just for me but them also. My daughter said Mom I had lots of questions and she answered every one of them. The care I received was amazing. "
-- Donna Adkins, Aortic Valve, Valve Repair, Root Replacement, 10/24/2017
"I was having head rushes and shaking spells for months . I finally went to the ER and spent a week. They discounted the septum wall in my heart was too thick as well as an irregularity heart beat that could be fatal. I followed up with a Cardiologist that seemed To not have a good grasp of the condition and a friend in the healthcare field said I was way too symptomatic and recommended Dr Harrington . Upon our first meeting she was so informed about my condition I was amazed. She immediately scheduled tests as well as recommending a wonderful cardiologist. I had my surgery and she was so professional and her follow up was excellent. I am 51 years old and was very frightening but she explained everything- twice some times I was reassigned with the level of care I was receiving. Dr Harrington is wonderful and I am recovered nicely !!"
-- David Heguy, Mitral Valve, Median Sternotomy, 10/10/2017
"I am a 48 year old attorney that suddenly went into congestive heart failure with a torn aortic valve. Many colleagues (and other physicians) referred me to Dr. Harrington. I was more than impressed with her personable and confident nature, as well as the ability to put my mind at ease. She explained all phases of the procedure to me and I selected a mechanical valve (which I was pleased to find out was the most recent valve technology). The surgical team was fantastic and the stay at the hospital was pleasant. Dr. Harrington checked on me frequently in the hospital and I was discharged in about 7 days. I am less than a month since surgery and I feel great. I absolutely and without hesitation recommend Dr. Harrington for aortic valve replacement surgery."
-- David Littman, Aortic Valve, Valve Replacement, 10/09/2017
"Some of you reading this may have great concerns just as I did before my surgery. Dr. Harrington put all my concerns to rest the first 5 minutes of my first visit with her and she exudes passion and confidence . Right away I could sense she was put on this planet to save lives!! She is an amazing human being. Her support staff and medical staff are second to none as well. Hopefully I will never need her services again but if I do I would not hesitate to take her advise and let her do what does!!!!!!!!"
-- Dennis May, Aortic Valve, 10/06/2017
"Dr. Harrington and her group were amazing. I was never rushed by her or the staff. She always answered all of our questions, and walked us through every step. My wife was updated throughout the surgery, and her concerns put to ease. We would highly recommend Dr. Harrington."
-- Matt Snyder, Aortic Valve, Valve Replacement, Root Replacement, 08/22/2017
"Excellent care before, during and after surgery. She has a great bed-side manor in the hospital and excellent assistances to help monitor my care when she was in surgery. She answered all my questions and in terms that I could understand. Great care by an excellent doctor at an excellent facility. Her office even called after I got home just to check to see how I was feeling and if I had any questions about my recovery. What more could you ask for? Thank you Dr. Harrington!"
-- Mary Sheffield, Aortic Valve, Mitral Valve, Tricuspid Valve, Valve Repair, Valve Replacement, 06/20/2017

-- Russell Daniel, Aortic Valve, Valve Replacement, 05/30/2017
"Dr. Joushua Burak highly recommended her and I was hesitant because she looked so young, she seemed so confident, I decided to take a chance along with a lot of prayers. Knowing she also had a religious background I decided that with God, Dr. Harrington and my faith, all would be well. It was!!! Thank you Jesus and thank you Dr. Harrington."
-- Alice Grice, Aortic Valve, Valve Replacement, 04/18/2017
"Last month was one year from my surgery, my strength has returned and I can say I feel absolutely great. I am so thankful I was referred to Dr. Harrington. She is a very gifted surgeon, the whole process was just great and the Heart Hospital of Plano couldn't have been better. I had aortic valve replacement and five bypass's. Everything about this experience was a positive one."
-- Tommy Johnson, Aortic Valve, Valve Replacement, 04/14/2017
"My cardiologist, one of the founders of The Heart Hospital-Plano, referred me to Dr. Harrington. My wife, our daughter-in-law (a cardiac RN), and I conferred with Dr. Harrington. She explained in very simple terms the alternative minimally invasive and open-heart procedures, their respective risks, recovery periods, and outcome prospects. Dr. Harrington convinced me that in spite of the lengthy and more difficult recovery period for open-heart surgery that the outcome was worth it. Her calm, confident explanations overcame my fears.
Preparation and scheduling by Dr. Harrington's front-office was the best that I have ever experienced. The surgery went exactly as planned, The Heart Hospital of Plano is among the best in America.
Daily attention by Dr. Harrington and her colleagues was exceptional. The hospital nurses and techs were wonderful, kind and caring, but pushing my recovery. The hospital release was very well planned with followup from both The Heart Hospital and Dr. Harrington's office.
Three weeks of home care got me to the followup with Dr. Harrington, when I was released from her care. Since then, I'm back to my regular routine which includes exercise at Plano's Tom Muehlenbeck Recreation Center.
Thank you Dr. Harrington, you are a LIFE SAVER!"
-- Raymond Widmer, Aortic Valve, Valve Replacement, 04/06/2017
"I met with Dr. Harrington a couple of weeks prior to my AVR/root replacement to discuss options and we discussed at length before deciding on the On-X valve with a dacron graft. She was able to answer all my questions without a hint of condescension and made my wife and I feel totally confident about the procedure. Immediately after surgery (completed with no issues), Dr. Harrington met with my wife, and then came by multiple times to check on me post-surgery. Recovery has gone great, and I'm excited to know that Dr. Harrington will be following up in the future with my case. She is truly an outstanding surgeon!"
-- Bartt Richards, Aortic Valve, Valve Replacement, Median Sternotomy, Root Replacement, 04/04/2017
"She is an excellent surgeon! She came to visit me twice while I was in the hospital. I really appreciate her skills. She did a mini-sternotomy, thankfully! I feel so fortunate to live in this area, that I had access to the best Heart Hospital and the best surgeon!"
-- Dominique Hiltz, Aortic Valve, Valve Replacement, Mini Sternotomy, Root Replacement, 03/29/2017
"Dr. Harrington is an excellent surgeon. She answered all questions prior to surgery and showed complete confidence that my surgery would be good. Her daily visits while I was still in the hospital were never rushed, and she took extra time to answer all questions. The surgery went well and my recovery is going very well. I highly recommend Dr. Harrington to anyone needing to have heart valve surgery."
-- Preston Hallman, Aortic Valve, Valve Replacement, Mini Sternotomy, 03/02/2017
"DR HARRINGTON PERFORMED A TRIPLE BYPASS, AORTIC REPLACEMENT AND TRICUSPID REPAIR. VERY THOROUGH IN HER EXPLANATION AS TO WHAT SHE WOULD BE DOING, AND VERY CARING FOR THE PATIENT SHE WOULD BE PERFORMING SURGERY ON. SHE LET THE CAREGIVERS KNOW HOW THE SURGERY WAS GOING DURING THE SURGERY, AND VERY EXPLANATORY POST SURGERY. CAME BY DAILY POST SURGERY TO SEE HOW I WAS DOING, AND REALLY WANTED TO SPEND TIME WITH ME TO INSURE ALL WAS WELL. I HAD NO POST SURGERY PAIN FROM THE LEGS OR THE CHEST AREAS WHERE INCISIONS/BREAKING OCCURRED. ADDDITIONALLY, THE CHEST INCISION WAS VERY SMALL COMPARED TO OTHERS I HAVE SEEN.
DR HARRINGTON'S CREDENTIALS SPEAK FOR THEMSELF, AND I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER TO ANY PERSON WHO WOULD BE HAVING THIS TYPE OF SURGERY."
-- DELBERT BORDERS, Aortic Valve, Tricuspid Valve, Valve Repair, Valve Replacement, 03/01/2017
"From the first time Dr. Harrington walked into my hospital room, I felt a confidence she was the surgeon to perform my triple by-pass. Her caring and unhurried approach put me at ease from the start. These qualities, coupled with her professionalism and knowledge of her field, make her an outstanding heart surgeon. My recovery has gone extremely well, and I would not hesitate to return to and/or recommend Dr. Harrington for any cardiac intervention. "
-- Jim Millsap, Tricuspid Valve, Median Sternotomy, 01/16/2017
"She was wonderful. I was at ease with procedure once I met and spoke With Dr. Harrington. Very professional and had fantastic bedside manner. She informed me with every step we took. I would highly recommend Dr. Harrington to anyone with heart problems. She is a blessing.."
-- Harrell Teague, Aortic Valve, Valve Replacement, 01/03/2017
"Awesome! Always felt like this wasn't a chancy surgery and although a pretty critical operation, Dr Harrington emitted a confidence that gave me peace in knowing that I was in good hands. My wife and I love this surgeon!! "
-- CECIL MCKOWN, Aortic Valve, Valve Replacement, 12/04/2016
"From our first meeting in her office to my post surgical check up back in her office, she did a great job of explaining what was going to happen and how the surgery went. She and her associates saw me in the hospital and always had time to answer my questions and see to my needs. I feel great now and feel like I recovered better than I had expected. Thanks Dr Harrington."
-- Gary Berglund, Aortic Valve, Valve Replacement, 11/08/2016
"Four years ago Dr. Harrington did my aortic valve replacement through a min-sternotomy approach. When I heeded three vessel coronary artery bypass grafting last month, it was an easy decision to return from my home in Texarkana to have Dr. Harrington do my second open heart surgery.
Dr. Harrington, her team, and the folks at Plano Scott White Baptist Heart Hospital rate a 10/10 in my regard."
-- James Keever, M.D., J.D., Aortic Valve, Mini Sternotomy, 10/13/2016
"I had absolutely NO concerns going into this valve sparing root replacement surgery with Dr. Harrington. I watched my father and aunt have the same exact surgery one year before mine with Dr. Harrington and she was great with them. All of us had a quick recovery and as excellent experience as one can have with major surgery. "
-- Jeff Bednar, Aortic Valve, Root Replacement, 10/12/2016
"Dr. Harringtion saved my life. I knew I needed a Aortic valve replacement, but did not realize that my Mitral valve was almost completely closed with calcium buildup which had hardened due to radiation treatment. Dr. Harrington scheduled the surgery as soon as possible even though I tried to delay it due my teaching responsibilities. I wanted to wait until November and Dr. Harringtons' comment was, "Oh we're not waiting until November." We did the surgery in September and I had complete confidence in her and never doubted her.
Eight hours of surgery and within 5 weeks of the surgery I was walking 1.5 to 2 miles daily. All I can say is thank you and I would not hesitate a minute about returning to her if the need ever arises. "
-- Ken Norris, Aortic Valve, Mitral Valve, Valve Replacement, 09/07/2016
"Dr Harrington's demeanor gave me confidence that I was in good hands. The Lord is performing miracles through the likes of surgeons such as Dr Harrington. I was an 82 year old dead man walking. But now, because of the gift of Dr Harrington's talent, I expect to make a dozen more trips around the sun."
-- Ken Byler, Pulmonary Valve, Valve Replacement, 08/03/2016
"Dr. Harrington was a blessing for me. She was very attentive, knowledgeable, and alleviated my concerns. She is an excellent surgeon and I would recommend her to anyone."
-- Nancy Gerstner, Aortic Valve, Valve Replacement, Mini Sternotomy, 07/12/2016
"Dr. Harrington was wonderful. She thoroughly explained the procedure and answered all of our questions prior to surgery. This was the second time that I have had my chest opened which made my surgery more difficult for Dr. Harrington but she did what she had to open and close my chest which left with minimal scarring. She came by to check on me every day and answer all of my questions. I am totally satisfied and would highly recommend Dr. Harrington."
-- Joseph McCarthy, Tricuspid Valve, Valve Replacement, Median Sternotomy, 06/15/2016
"Although I knew this was a serious operation the confidence exuded by Dr. Harrington set my mind at ease and set the tone for the entire process. She encouraged me to stay on the exercise path I had been prior to the diagnosis which gave me the quickest recovering possible. People are amazed when I tell them the whole experience was better than I could ever have thought possible. My scar is almost unnoticeable due to her awesome skills. And that's just the cosmetic part, what she did inside saved my life. I recommend the entire team at Baylor Heart Hospital! Thank you! "
-- Bruce Denton, Aortic Valve, Valve Replacement, 06/14/2016
"Having had 3 Aortic Valve Replacements in the last 36 years, I'm very happy to say that Dr. Harrington was absolutely fantastic as my 3rd (and hopefully last) Cardiac Heart Valve Surgeon. I was extremely distraught at the thought of yet another (Redo) Aortic Valve Replacement but she put my mind very much at ease, taking all the time in the world to explain my options and suggesting the best alternative for me. She replaced my Aortic Valve and set me up with a mount for a future TAVR replacement should I ever need another Aortic Valve- no cracking the chest- YAY! She worked closely with me and my family and got me in and out quickly. And I have to say, from an open heart perspective, this was the easiest of the 3 surgeries. As an Aortic Valve Surgeon she's the tops in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. She was working with my previous Aortic Valve Surgeon who was the best in the area at the time of my 2nd (Redo) Valve surgery. He highly recommended her and now I know why. I would never, given my 3 Aortic Replacements, ever consider anyone but the best- especially at Redo's. And Dr. Harrington is the best Valve Surgeon!"
-- Robert Carreras, Aortic Valve, Valve Replacement, 02/06/2016
"Perfect! Great consultation explaining options and expected outcomes. VERY KIND 81 years old and not one complication Would not think twice about using her skills again"
-- Joe Reiman, Aortic Valve, Valve Replacement, 01/26/2016
"I met with multiple surgeons before choosing Dr. Harrington. Her specialty as a cardiothoracic surgeon is aortic valve replacement and repair, and repairing the associated aneurysm. During my first consultation with Dr. Harrington, she walked us through all of the possible outcomes with great care and patience as my wife and I asked a lot of questions. Additionally, of all the surgeons I met with, she was the only one that gave me a chance to repair the valve and not replace it. Sparing the valve was a big deal for me because I was 36 when I had the surgery and the opportunity to not take blood thinners for a good portion of my life was a big deal.
The day of the surgery she came and visited me pre-surgery to walk through the procedure and see how I was doing – mentally, physically and emotionally. When I woke from surgery I was I fully prepared to hear the ticking of an artificial valve and to my surprise Dr. Harrington was able to repair the valve. She came and visited me and my family post-surgery and walked us through what she did to repair the valve. During the recovery period in the hospital she visited and walked me through what to expect during the following months, and her staff was great throughout the entire recovery process.
I’ve seen her a few times as follow-up visits and she still remains patience with me as I continue to ask questions.
By the way, if you want to know how determined she is to her job, she was 37 weeks pregnant when she completed my surgery and I was one of four surgeries that week. She’s a phenomenal surgeon with great determination to get the job done right with tremendous bedside manner – I highly recommend her services."
-- David Nakhleh, Aortic Valve, Valve Repair, Root Replacement, David Procedure, 11/05/2015
"Dr. Harrington is awesome. I would definitely recommend her. She is a great surgeon, and takes the time with her patients to answer all the questions. Prior the procedure she took the time to come and see me and explained to me what all was going get done. After the procedure she continued to check on me. I got my Aorta Valve replaced with a mechanical valve. Recovery went great, easier that what I expected. Thank you soo much Dr. Harrington! God Bless you!"
-- Marta Ramirez, Aortic Valve, Valve Replacement, 11/04/2015
"Dr. Harrington met me after it was determined I needed an Aortic valve replacement. She was pregnant and was due in a few weeks. She was very professional, polite. The procedure more than I expected and it took me awhile to recover."
-- richard nickerson, Aortic Valve, Valve Replacement, 10/22/2015
"Great doctor and surgeon my surgery went very well doc. Did an outstanding job both during surgery and after surgery my scar is barley visible which really amazed me that it healed so well I woukd defiantly recommend doc. Harrington to anybody needing heart surgery great doc. And great lady "

"Got a call from my youngest brother, Tim. Who lives in Texas. Asked "How long ago was my last echo?". It had been several years, for me. He asked that I have one done as soon as I could. He was having surgery the following week.
I got call from my cardiologist to see him. Least to say, and after making all the arrangements with my job. Surgery was set for August 2015. I knew everything would be ok. Tim thought very highly of Dr. Harrington. I had no seconds thoughts about my surgery. Aortic root repair, aortic aneurysm, also mitral valve repair. Thank you, Dr. Harrington. I can't say it enough."
-- Lori Bednar, Aortic Valve, Mitral Valve, Valve Repair, 08/19/2015
"Absolutely superb surgeon. Was told l needed heart transplant, but Dr. Harrington was able to do a fairly new procedure. My heart was enlarged twice its size and had clogged arteries and a bad valve. She was able to cut off the dead portion of my heart, patch it, do the bypass procedure and replace my bad valve. That was over 2yrs. ago and l am doing great. Thanks Again Dr. Harrington!"
-- Charles Glidewell, Aortic Valve, Pulmonary Valve, Valve Replacement, 09/18/2014
"I was so blessed to find Dr. Harrington who worked with Dr. Michael Mack to perform a mitral valve repair for me. My valve was a Bowman valve and I am certain it took extra skill to repair it. I went into the procedure with a 60% regurgitation at age 65, otherwise healthy. I completed surgery with 0% regurgitation and that is what I still have at my last check-up 30 days ago!
Dr. Harrington is a precious gem that has great skill and a wonderful bedside manner. I recommend her highly to anyone looking for valve surgery. My wife and I are so grateful to her for developing such an excellent skill set to allow her to perform minimally invasive surgery on my heart.

"Everything was good. She visited me several time after surgery. Everything has been fine since my surgery. Doctor Michael Mack was also attending in the surgery. I have no complaints at all."

"Referred to Dr Harrington by a heart specialist who diagnosed my previously unknown bicuspid heart valve, and given weeks at best, at sixty I needed fast and complete information on next steps. Dr Harrington's depth of knowledge gave me confidence going into surgery, helping me make critical choices correctly and plan for the future. Within 48 hours of surgery I was off painkillers of any kind and have not taken any since. Not only do I feel in my mid-twenties, but I am more active now than at any time in my life. That is a super qualified doctor. Thank you, Dr. Harrington!"

" I strongly recommend Dr. Harrington for anyone considering cardiac surgery . She is very good with her patients explains all the procedures and takes a lot of time with them after the procedure is done . I know several people that have had cardiac surgery elsewhere and mash car is a lot smaller and looks a lot better than what they were left with. Dr. Harrington and the Plano heart hospital are top notch. "

"Dr. Harrington was highly recomemded to me by both local cardio experts and my friends at Stanford. Her manner, detail, and true concern for my health were all great. My age was 68 and hadd been a type 1 diabetic since the age of 4. This added to her job with additional health concerns. However, she was wonderful in the seven hour surgery and had me walking the next day. I was able to return home in only a few days. The follow up visits were a continuation of drug therapy recomendations and health improvements She is the best.."

"The first time I met Dr. Harrington, I had been care flighted into Baylor Heart Hospital because I was sustaining a dissecting aortic aneurysm. As soon as she started speaking to me I was put at ease. I could tell she was confidant and caring, giving me much reassurance. After surgery she was very candid and open with me about everything and made me feel comfortable to ask questions. Over the last 6 years, I have been seeing Dr. Harrington, I have enjoyed every consultation I've had with her. She is patient, answers all my questions and speaks very frankly and open to me, making me feel valued and respected. I have the utmost trust in her as a person and as a surgeon. I would highly recommend her to anyone.
Thank you Dr. Harrington for helping to save my life. Since the operation I have gained two daughter-in laws, three grandchildren and seen all me kids become adults. I thank God he put you in my life and I pray for you and all your patients."
