About Me

A few years ago after a routine physical I found out that I had a leaking aortic valve. At the time I was told that it was a mild leak and that it was just something that would have to be watched on an annual basis. Over the years the leak continued to become worse. I October of this year I was told that the leak was severe and that I needed to consult with a surgeon. After the various tests it was determined that I needed to have valve replacement. I have decided to go with a mechanical valve because of my age. I am 48. As of the time of my writing this by surgery is scheduled in 4 days. I have been very reassured by my surgeon and others that the operation should be successful but I am certainly very concerned and honestly afraid. But I do have strong faith that things will be fine.
