About Me

59 yrs at the time of mitral valve diagnosis. Work up showed severe mitral valve regurgitation, mild/mod aortic valve regurgitation and aortic root dilation 4.5 cm on echo. Had robotic assisted minimally invasive mitral valve repair and PFO repair 5/2022 in Atlanta. AFIB several days post MVR. Diagnosed w/ post pericardiotomy syndrome/ pericarditis a few months post OHS. Resolved after course of Colchicine. Found a new cardiologist who was a better fit for me and addressed my aneurysm. I wish I had found this community prior to my first surgery. Learned so much from the educational resources and folks on this board. Gated chest CT 8/2023 showed increased aortic root dilation. Met w/ home hospital aortic surgeon. Three other opinions including Cleveland Clinic. Fortunately, offered 1/2024 surgery slot w/ Dr. Eric Roselli. David Procedure- aortic valve sparing aortic root and ascending aneurysm repair. Left appendage clip. 11/24 Pacemaker due to ongoing atypical atrial flutter and sinus node dysfunction. Cardiac ablations and cardioversions d/t persistent AF.
