In April 2014, during a routine exam, a heart murmur was detected. I had an echocardiogram as well as a TEE and was diagnosed with moderate to severe MVR. A year later, a recent TEE has shown severe MVR, so I am having surgery in May. Will have cath done in early May to determine if arteries clear. (UPDATE: They are clear!!) I have some symptoms (shortness of breath, fatigue, palpitations), but feel healthy overall. Pre-diagnosis, I just assumed fatigue was from working full time and raising an active child! Nervous about what's to come and looking forward to being part of this community as the journey continues!
