I am now one month post op from my mitral valve repair by the distinguished Dr. Patrick McCarthy. I am doing well. My sternum was broken which gives me discomfort. Other than that I have no pain. My scar is not as bad as anticipated. It is almost blended in with my chest. As everyone knows it is a long recovery one that requires patience at all times. I have up and down days. Chief problem is I cannot sleep at night waking every hour. Does anyone else have this problem? I would like to thank Adam Pick for bringing us all together with great information.
