I had a heart murmur and prolapsed mitral valve for many years, but this past December while hiking I realized I struggled to get full breaths going uphill. After a couple of studies at my local hospital in New Mexico, my cardiologist said it was time for repair. I am 67, very nervous, but hopeful about the improvement my upcoming surgery can bring. I also have a lot of allergies and sensitivities and wonder if anyone has suggestions about that. Also, I am very grateful to have a healthy heart otherwise.
