About Me

I have been diagnosed with severe aortic stenosis but have no symptoms -- imagine my surprise. I have decide to go ahead and have the valve replaced (in January if all goes according to plan). I chose to do this on my terms rather than wait for a crisis. Now I'm "doing my homework" and trying to gather as much information as possible. This site has already made my feel a lot better. Big ThankYou! Big update: my first surgery was a success however, my body didn't like a "foreign (mechanical) object" and tried to cover it up with tissue. Results—I'm now having to have a second surgery to replace the valve —this time with a biological valve. Hope everything goes as well as last time but with a better outcome.
