About Me

I was born with a bicuspid aortic valve that was finally diagnosed in 2011 and replace with a St Jude's Trifecta bio prosthetic valve 6/28/16. That valve has since failed and will be replaced 3/18/26. Because of my general health, structural dimensions in my heart and the activity level I have enjoyed, It was recommended by more than one surgeon that a SAVR rather than TAVR be done. I'm 75 now so hoping and praying that my recovery will go as well as last time! I've used my valve a lot in the past 10 years and put in many miles of hiking, skiing and biking ….then add many hours of activities with 5 grandkids!!!! I've appreciated the trifecta but sure wish it had lasted longer!
