I found out a year ago that I had severe aortic valve stenosis. Last June I had two stents placed and did really well. I started getting short of breath 3 months ago and my Cardiologist, Dr Shoultz said it was time for the replacement. I have spent this year adjusting to the thought of surgery. I've read just about everything I can find on heart valve replacement and watched videos. I have been using Peggy Huddleston's book on Preparing and healing for surgery. I use her techniques for guided imagery. I think I'm prepared and with my family and friends I am looking at this as an adventure instead of a dreaded ordeal. Thanks for all the tips and insights I have read on this site.
