I was 54 in September of 2016 when I started having symptoms of what would be diagnosed as mitral regurgitation. I had surgery on Dec 16th of that year (2016). They could not repair the valve so replaced it with a bovine tissue valve. In November of 2018 I had an echo that showed moderate mitral regurgitation in the replacement valve. Fast forward to 2023 and the echo's now show severe mitral stenosis and pulmonary hypertension in the tissue valve that was put in 2016.
