On May 12th 2014 I had an aortic aneurysm repair and an aortic valve replacement with a bovine replacement valve via open heart surgery by Dr. Duke Cameron at, Johns Hopkins Hospital. After recover from OHS I felt great for 8 yrs. In July 2022 after an annual Echo I was informed that my bovine tissue replacement aortic valve now has severe stenosis and is failing which means I need to have another replacement aortic valve. After a Cardiac CT scan it was determined my aortic aneurysm repair still looked great and I had no new aneurysms meaning I could possibly have my new valve replacement via TAVR. On Oct. 3rd I had a Cardiac catheterization test and it was determined I had no blockages and I could indeed have my new aortic replacement via TAVR. I am now scheduled for TAVR on Monday Oct. 10th at Johns Hopkins Hospital with Dr. Matthew Czarny. So counting the days...
Side note... I almost blew off my annual echocardiogram this year so glad I didn't. Everyone please make sure to go for your annual cardiologist visits and tests, even if you think you feel fine.
