I had heart surgery at CHC (replaced 2 valves and repaired one) 10/23/17 and five months later I feel great. I am a 78 year old male, born w a bicuspid valved which I had replaced w a mech valve at St Jude's when I was 66. The mech valve leaked from the get-go. 14 years later my legs, feet, and stomach were swollen grotesquely and my kidneys began shutting down. My cardiologist here in Texas said that I wouldn't last til spring without surgery. At my age and in my condition he said my chances of surviving surgery were about 50/50. So I turned to Dr Per Wierup at the Cleveland Heart Clinic. Per replaced my mech v with a bovine v, my mitral v with a porcine v, and repaired my tricuspid v. 5 months later I feel better than I have in 20 years. A miracle. Thanks, Per, for a new life. It is now 3/9/19, almost 1 1/2 yr after surgery and I feel great. am walking and exercising and breathing great. again thanks to Dr per wierup and God.
