I was diagnosed with aortic stenosis and a bicuspid valve as an infant. After annual tests and check-ups with my cardiologists over the years, I am now moving toward corrective surgery in mid February 2023. I will have aortic root and valve replacement surgery. We have decided due to my age to go with a mechanical valve. I'm pretty anxious about the surgery but I have a great surgeon and medical team lined up so I know I'll be in good hands. Update: surgery scheduled for 2/22/23
