About Me (In My Own Words)
I had a bicuspid aortic valve discovered in the 1970’s, before the time of the common use of echocardiography. My AS remained mild and asymptomatic until fairly recently. I also had paroxysmal A. Fib. With delayed visits during Covid, I progressed fairly rapidly to requiring SAVR on 5/13/2021. I also had a maze procedure and atrial appendage clipping. Post-op I developed high grade heart block and had a pacemaker inserted 6 days after the valve replacement. I had great care at the Cleveland Clinic and everything is working well now.
