I am highly motivated to get back to riding. My surgeon said I should be able to ride again about 6 weeks post-surgery. Saying prayers that everything goes well.

Peter Luxenberger Hi Peggy
I had pretty much the same situation. I had my surgery Feb. 12 was able to get out of the hospital in 4 days. My procedure was minimally invasive with the davinci robotics it all went great. When the surgeon got inside he noticed the valve was in worse shape than he anticipated so he had to spend extra time.
I was told the same thing about getting back on my feet. Regular activities in 6 weeks hang in there 1st couple days is the toughest but after that everyday gets easier. You will be back on your horse soon then you think. Just don't push it to soon, take the time to heal I know that will be hard to do. It is for me. Peter

Adam Pick Peggy, Looking forward to hearing about your success story. But, please do not rush the recovery. It's wonderful that you are setting goals. But, it is also very important to give your body the time it needs to heal. Personally, I did too much too soon and I "paid the price" for it - chest pain, etc. Thoughts are with you. Look forward to seeing you back on the horse after your procedure. P.S. Are you watching Yellowstone? My wife and I are on Season 2. My goodness what a show.

Victoria Baker Peggy, I agree with Adam. I also did too much too soon and paid the price as well. The moral of the story is to know that if you were active prior to surgery, you will be even more active post surgery but you have to heal. It does take time. (not too much time but enough time and only you can be the decider).
