Question for everyone, I don't remember my previous scars hurting as much as this one. I am almost 4 months post op and it still hurts bad when things rub up against the top part. Which seems to be a keloid scar. Does this go away? Will it hurt forever?

It also is very sensitive and sometimes very itchy around that area.

You may want to see a dermatologist. There may be something they can do to treat your symptoms. Best of luck.

I would check with a dermatologist. Mine was bumpy and itchy for about 6 months. 5 years alter, my tube scars still get irritated form time to time.

It's amazing how quickly the body heals itself. I still can't get over it.

Was wondering what the neck tube is for? I never even asked.

hie Jennifer this photo kinda take me back to the day after surgery ..that tube over there is the one that keeps you breathing well during and soon after surgery it keeps the breathing space open so you can breath well ..i did not like the feeling of it on... Read more.

Marie Myers is correct in that it is an IV central line, just had same two weeks ago. It is miracle all that they can do for patients to have optimum access and care for what may occur.
