Home and showered last night and clutching my sternal protector of course....YAY!! Crazy insurance company tried to screw up home meds, but got it worked out :). Soon nice to be home :)

You Look great for around a week, first shower at home is an awesome feeling!

Great picture. I read your story. Good luck. I had AVR. I did not know I had a bicuspid valve until Nov of 2013 and surgery was Jan 9 of 2014. I had run a half marathon in Oct of 2013 and then a 15k just 2 weeks before surgery.... Read more.
Thanks Clare, I need more of those no pumphead, still strong after surgery stories! Cath in 10 days to assure no need for CABG with the MV repair, then hope to schedule for late September. Talked some more to my boss yesterday about expectations...that's interesting!

You're doing all the right things! Take a look at Jane Buttram's recent post and the comments about "no pumphead." For what it's worth, I had the same concerns, and after 4 hours on the bypass machine for the 7 hour Ross procedure, I was fine. Best of luck to... Read more.
