The incision itself isn't very painful- stings a bit. The muscles all around are painful- getting easier. Hard to pick open doors etc.The drainage tubes were very painful and getting in and out of bed and being in bed were hard first few weeks.

Wow. Looks good. I'm 4 weeks out. I agree. The muscles (right side) were more painful than the sternotomy incision. And numb too. My right chest tube area was a killer. Wasn't expecting that!

Your incision looks like mine. Since I am thin I feel like it is more prominent. Are you using anything for the scar? I am 6 weeks so have not been using anything yet.
