Kim posted a note for Victoria that says:
I had a mitral valve repair 7 months ago. I am 60 and in great shape. Prior my resting heart rate was
57-62. After surgery 95-100 7 months later it is mid 70's I do not think it will ever go back to where it was and have accepted that it will be my new normal. I feel great and am back to normal otherwise.
It took about 4 or 5 months until it went down into the 70's. Your heart is not the same heart after surgery but it will go down at least somewhat. I was sure mine wouldn't and it made me very nervous.
I was on a beta blocker prior and I am still on the same dose so the beta blocker made no difference for me.
