Tim Traub LF, there's a followup on day 3 or 4 after discharge with Dr Roselli's NP to check that beta blockers are working... you have good rhythm... and to do another chest xray for me because of my collapsed lung earlier this week. At the same appt they will remove remaining sutures on the three chest tubes that really surprised me today as to how much they are oozing. Sternum incision is dry so I don't think they will do anything with that incision until the day 42 (6 wk followup appt). Then there is a 90 day followup appt. We live 3.5 hours away thought the first 3 day visit was better served by staying in the interconnected IC Hotel and not making 2 x 7 hour round trips in 3 days. If your are only 70-80 mins away and don't mind that commute I don't see any reason you have to stay local like we and thousands of other out of towners do

Thanks a lot Tim, tube was in long for you. My issues, bicuspid stenosis valve with 4.9 aortic root. Stenosis severe stage no symptoms.My cardiologist is in clinic, go back in April more test then he said referral to surgeon, which I said I wanted Dr. Roselli.

Did he visit you in icu and regular room, when do you see him again. Lastly does clinic set up home care for you , how often?

Tim Traub Yes LF… I got a new aortic root that gave Dr Roselli the right size and 3-D geometry to reimplant my valve that he had to repair. Dr Roselli is a very busy man (he works 20 hr days and is in high demand to fix situations that no one else will touch. I was visited in ICU by his very capable partners… but I did meet with him twice before surgery and he has amazing bedside manner. I would rather have him fixing the next person’s issue rather visiting me in the ICU. He did meet personally with my wife and explained everything to her at 9:30 PM after two waves of surgeries that started at 6 AM. Mine started at 1:35PM and I came to consciousness and hd the breathing tube removed at 5 AM the next day. I can’t speak to home care but imagine they can help you with that option. Best wishes!

This one just came in… check out the snow that kicks up as the patient lands. Praying for them and the surgical team that no doubtedly is just beginning their work.

I have read the journals of several people on this site who have had their procedures done by Dr. Roselli. They seem to be uniformly very positive about their experiences. It looks like you are in good shape so I’m betting you will do well. I’m sure you are tired of hearing it, but anticipation is worse than the surgery. Good luck!

Hi Tim. My wife and son, and I, just said a prayer for you and your surgery team. I am sure things will go well. Christ knows exactly what you need, and he is looking after you, always. He will be there in that operating room with you! This has become a favorite verse for me: 1 Peter 5:6 " humble yourselves, therefore, under Gods mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. " One night, when i was recovering at home, i was having a pretty bad night, and it suddenly hit me that Jesus is there with me. Beside me. In that room. Helping me through it all. Nothing could be more comforting. Nothing is better than having the creator of the universe helping you. All of your anxiety for your surgery can be cast onto him! He says so.
I was saying prayers on my way to surgery, to please help me. And he saved my life. When the team did not know what to do, he gave them the wisdom they needed at the right time! He has helped me through every challenge. He will help you too... let me know if i can help in any way!! PS. Check out a song from Cain called.. Im so blessed. It got me through some anxious times. Cheers!

Tim, Team Mlcoch is now spread out across the country but we will spread the word and make sure that everyone sends prayers and good vibes....to lessen the anxiety, to steady the surgeon's hand, and to have quick and easy healing. I'm so glad we re-connected recently and would like to hop on Facetime with you and Rhonda before the surgery since we can't be there in person for it.
