Hi Tim. August 13th happens to be my Birthday and good things always happen on that date. I'm sure your surgery is going to go well. I had Dr. Roselli for AVR and root replacement Oct. 2022. Waiting for surgery was the very worst part for me. They are really great at CC. My recommendation would be to bring a pillow and blanket that you like, long phone charger, and someone who makes sure to keep pain meds coming on time for the first several days. If you stay ahead of the pain, I was surprised how they can control it in a good way. Good luck to you

Pamela Gregory There was a board you could write on in the rooms that my daughter and husband used to keep track of times for meds. I only say this because one day I was sleeping and it was a good bit past when I should have had it. When I woke up it was not fun. After that we kept track and I did fine

Hello Tim, I read your post about symptoms disappearing. I thought a lot about your post. My personal experience is being a systematic. It started for me a couple of years ago after my physical. The murmur. So a lot of test and different doctors as well as keeping an eye on things. But I was very active with hockey and cycling, so after this discovery I think I pieced some things together such as my legs burnt out quick. I used to chalk it up as getting older. But maybe symptom? Anyway after researching and visiting some surgeon's I found a great surgeon that did the Ross Procedure. This was done April 9 for a bicuspid aortic valve as well as partial replacement ascending aorta. So I'm about 9 weeks I feel great. Your question is good but really a tough one to answer. Cardiac Rehab feels great. Everyday feels better for the most part. Sorry for this long winded response but I think you might get a different answer from each person here.
I hope this is helpful.
There's a lot of support here and your doing a lot of leg work to do what is best for you.
All the best on this journey this is a great site to be at.

Tim Carpenter Thank you Darrell yes the site is great . It is hard trying to wrap you head around needing ohs then you have to make the valve decision and that is tough. I was trying to figure out if the people on here noticed a big difference I have read on the net that people noticed a difference right away. I don’t always believe the net but this site has a plethora on knowledge and I would trust the information on here. Thanks Tim

Suelynn Hanegraaf Working just fine. I am 6 1/2 weeks post op. Just yesterday, my chest which was still numb in sections is “thawing”. Yes I think others are referring to what I have - the Zimmer SternaLock Blu plating system. You can search for this online. It supposedly gives more support to the healing sternum and decreases total healing time.
