Good luck Shandra, making these decisions aren't easy. I was shocked to find out my surgeon couldn't operate on me. It's a whole new journey this time around. My first surgery (MVR) was in 2001 and it went very well. But I'm told this time I will need a surgeon that specializes in valve replacement with aortic calcification. Have you set a date for your surgery and if so where are you having it done. My thoughts and prayers are with you for a speedy recovery.

Shandra Boyd Roni--based on my complexity, I was concerned that I could not be operated on too. (I've had cancer with radiation, stroke and afib). I was pleased that both said that they could and that it would be very successful. Ideally I would like to have it the last week in September which would give me enough time to get my house/family/school in order. I am going to have it done at Edwards Hospital in Naperville, IL. Thank you for your thoughts and your prayers.
