Miriam St.Clair That's so kind of you to think of me! My afib is still causing issues and is not well controlled by the amiodarone. I see my cardiologist on June 2 to make a plan to go forward. The good news is that the most recent echo showed my new valves and repairs are working beautifully. I hope you are well.

Miriam St.Clair Thank you Deena for thinking of me, you're so kind. I met with the surgeon on Thursday here in Cleveland and will also have to have part of my aorta replaced so I'll be getting the full, full commando procedure. Nothing has really hit me yet so I'm having a good time here in Cleveland, talking with family, drawing and painting, lots of reading, and walking a lot. All day testing yesterday was a bit tiring but overall, I'm hopeful about the outcome and feeling very fortunate to be here at the Cleveland Clinic. I don't feel ill so I'm very optimistic about the surgery. I hope you are well.

Miriam, the day is almost here and I didn’t want to miss letting you know that I am carrying you in my heart and prayers. I’m in the Hodgkin’s Lymphoma club as well, so I understand a lot of the things about your radiation damage. I had never heard of the type of surgery you will be having with the fibrous structure of your heart. I pray that you do well with your surgery, that you have a peace surround you and that your recovery is unremarkable. Sending lots of love and hugs your way. ~❤️

Miriam St.Clair Patsy, thank you so much for your kind thoughts and prayers. I'm doing well and am, thankfully, not very anxious. As I mentioned to Deena, I'm just enjoying hanging out here in Cleveland and feeling very positive. I have had another procedure added in with the two valve replacements, a valve repair, and the replacement of the fibrous structure of the heart and that is replacement of part of the aorta. Who knew when we had that radiation all those years ago that we'd be here but I'm so, so grateful for all those good years I had. I expect to have many more thanks to the good people here at the Cleveland Clinic. It's nice to have another Hodgkin's survivor here who can share this unique experience.
