Read your story, Michelle. It’s only been three weeks, of course you will still be tired! Hope you are not being too hard on yourself. It takes months for the heart to heal. And the same to wrap your head around that you had open heart surgery and all that went with it. Miracle surgery, boggles my mind.
For your chest pain, due to the incision and/or muscles being maneuvered, I found a heating pain on a low setting helped.

Hey Michelle! As the newest member of our community... Welcome! It's great to have another Aussie join us!!! I just read your story. At 3 weeks post-op, It's still early in your recovery. So, please take it easy. There is no rush to feel "normal". I've spoke with many patients who try to rush their recovery and it can really backfire on them, their spouses and the their family. Like you, I had lingering pain. Please know and trust that it will get better. It just takes time. I'm curious... Are you going to go to cardiac rehab? If not, you may want to look into that as cardiac rehab classes can really help patients physically, emotionally and socially. For me, cardiac rehab was the turning point in my recovery.
