About Me (In My Own Words)
I was only diagnosed a week before my surgery. I have not been well for years - excessive tiredness, shortness of breath, light headed. Had two unrelated surgeries past two years and no investigation into my bicuspid valve....only recently a doctor suggested I should see cardiologist. An echocardiogram showed my condition as very severe and I was operated on quickly. My surgeon said my Aorta was HORRIBLE.
Post surgery three weeks and the tiredness and weakness is still quite bad as well as pains in the upper chest region when I move etc. A bit of a soggy mess, crying so easily. My husband is getting a bit impatient with me but I understand this is normal. My doctor gave me some sleeping pills as I hadn't slept well for ages, they helped quite a bit. Does anyone have any advice on the upper chest pain, also at times I sort of have to catch my breath...is that normal as well. Any suggestions re rehab. Thanks in advance for any advice....
