Lori Phillips P.S.- I am not an addict. 20 yrs ago I could not control exceeding the daily dosage OF A CERTAIN DRUG to way dangerous levels. My pain doctor experimented w/diff meds. NOW, I am not addicted. In fact, I'll forget to take it, but my pain reminds and I'll think "Dam I forgot my meds" I'm not obsessed w/them. They do not give me a "buzz" or take away my ability to think or be in reality, or make sleepy. Come to think of it, they're a "buzz kill" but they quell my pain. I've lowered my dosage, but not enough and not in time for my surgery.

Barbara Laurie Lori,Tomorrow is your new day, my surgery was cancelled the day before my original date, and no one told us!😄 So, tomorrow will be great. Don't let any hate tell you you needed to get "clean" off of your prescribed meds. Ridiculous! How cruel. Seriously, to live with chronic pain is no easy thing, and those who refuse to cooperate with doctors regarding pain management have given you and I and many others a bad name. You are a lovely lady who is being prayed for my many of us. Sorry I missed your surgery update, best prayers for tomorrow hon. 💕🌿

The reason you are at the Cleveland Clinic is it is the BEST! I'm pleased you like and are comfortable with the doctor/surgeon. That means you trust them. If it's determined at their level of care that the surgery is not needed at this time, then it's needed. Any type of surgery but especially this operation is very traumatic to your whole body. You have been spared Sweetheart. God has a plan for you. Sometimes we don't understand it because it wasn't our plan. Go home and give thanks. Today is a new day. You are blessed! Love ya!

Lori Phillips You are right, Aunt Jeanette. It was just so overwhelming to be diagnosed with a heart problem when I had no symptoms. AND YET, I am sick. I try not to be greedy when I pray. I thank God that my health is not any worse as it could be. I thought maybe this surgery would be His answer. I am just trusting that God has a plan for me. The roller coaster that is open heart surgery [(OHS) < I learned that acronym 😊on this site] - is postponed until September.... or never! Hopping over to UB's site. Love you!

I'm so sorry your party was interrupted. Believe me, we know how that feels! We hope to reschedule our anniversary/birthday party in the Fall. But like I told UB, we'll have more to celebrate. He's doing great this weekend. Slept ALL night for the first time since diagnosis. We're at peace. Your party will have even more meaning later this summer. I'm glad you're at the clinic. You'll have a chance to catch your breath and meet everyone on staff. You are one day closer to being healed and feeling better. Sending Texas-size hugs and lots of kisses!! If you believe the meteorologists, we're past the bad part and sunny skies all next week. I think the cloudy skies can get us down so we really need to lift each other. Your best days are ahead! I understand your concerns. You have been through so much and have prevailed. Your heart surgery will be no different. Yes you'll hurt but each day is easier. Within days you will be up and around and within weeks feeling so much better. I felt no pain within me but the incision was uncomfortable. At times it would sting or burn and then itch. All the little nerve endings were healing. I tried to take advantage during my recovery, but UB saw right through me. He kicked my butt off to rehab and I was better for it. Renewed my confidence. I thought I was broken but far from it. I was stronger than I thought. You will be too. I love you!

Lori Phillips Thanks Aunt Jeanette! The worst thing is worrying about Jimmy and making sure he's not anxious and lonely. He's already been through so much with me, his mother, work and worrying about Jess. And, yes, I'd be lying if I didn't say I was worried about pain. It's been my burden for so many years, I'm afraid I'm immune to any pain relieving medication. But I do have that inner strength call Jesus Christ who will deliver me one way or another through this journey.💖 Love to you Aunt Jeanette! UB is lucky to have you by his side! 😘

Lori Phillips Wow! That is so sweet! I generally do have a positive attitude, but left alone , my brain to its own devices can let depression creep in! But I'm not going to let that happen because I have y'all and so many friends and family praying for me! UB, YOU are strong, positive, and have kept a good humor through your challenge. It would be disrespectful not to abide by that attitude during my challenge! UB RULES! LOL! Well, God does, but I was aiming for humor! Thank you so much for your encouraging words! Love you both!
