Hi, Kay. If all is still on schedule, you must be getting ready for your surgery tomorrow. I hope it goes smoothly for you and that your recovery progresses well. My surgery was July 14th, more than two months ago now and I am pretty much back to normal, and much better in some regards as the new valve took away being short of breath when climbing a lot of stairs or walking up steep hills, and after the first couple of weeks of feeling weak, I have lost that continual tiredness that I had erroneously attributed to aging. I wish the very best for you. Eleanor

Hi Kay, I'm sorry about the Fibro. Maybe if you make sure you stay well medicated you really may not experience more pain. I think lots of people are over anxious to get off the pain pills but I think they are what really got me through the first few weeks. I have CFS and was concerned the operation would bring on more symptoms too. I understand how you can just be so tired of pain too!! I know stress can increase the Fibro issues, so whatever you can do to relieve your stress would be good. I wish you well and more peaceful days! Lynn

Hi, Kay, you are right, the waiting is probably the hardest part, the questioning yourself, wondering what will happen, it is a difficult time. Once I had a firm date for the surgery, it helped me to settle down and begin to plan what I needed to do, or could do, to better prepare myself for the surgery. And, to think about coming home, what would I need to have, or to move around, to be able to take care of myself more easily. I hope your surgery goes well, and that the recovery is not too hard on you. I am going into week seven now post-surgery, looking forward to cardiac rehab and to driving the end of this week. Eleanor
