Hi Jyll and I am a "newbie" here to the heart valve newsletter family.  I have encouraged to visit the newsletter to preview so many wonderful and encouraging posts regarding surgery and recovery and help me with my fears.  I am scheduled for robotic mitral vale surgery in March.  (Childhood rheumatic fever in 1950's and mitral valve slowing leaking past few years. It's now my time.)  Reading thru posts, I happened to noticed tomorrow (1/30/26) is your day.  Just wanted to reach out to let you  know I will certainly be thinking of you and wishing you the very best!  Your heart journey to-date has been an amazing read, you have been thru so much and I feel very positive you are going to do just fine!  You have an outstanding medical team in place.  God bless you.     

Jyll, who are you meeting with from the team at Northwestern, as I know almost all of them! What tests are they needing and why is the wait so long? Let them know you need everything to be ordered emergent or stat for bloodwork and testing. Please push to get things done quickly so you are not waiting too long. The team is very busy at Northwestern Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute, but you are a priority 🫶 Make sure a family member or someone you trust to be a part of your MyChart is able to access your MyChart if you haven't already , as they can also ask questions and see and help you with test results, apts communication when your not able to yourself. It's so helpful to share the burden with a loved one or good friend . You may already have done this , but I'm just trying to think of ways to help a little if I can.

You've been through so much! Please let us know how things go with Dr Malaisries team, he's my surgeon also. Im having complications right now after about 6 weeks post op, but trying to stay positive. After reading your journey, I feel inspired🫶 When will you meet with the team?
