Adam is a great and kind Man and is praying for your son Joaquim and hoping along with all of Joaquim'sHeart Brother's and Heart Sisters that all is going well and the surgery is/was successful and your Little man is resting comfortably. Hey Renata! Good morning! I understand your concerns with the Ross procedure. I did a search on this site and there is access to a bunch of great articles. I'm by no means a medical authority, however I can share my personal experiences. I had the Ross procedure between my freshman and sophomore year in H.S. I'm 32 now and expect to have a third surgery (another valve replacement) before I'm 35. My daily activities weren't very limited, however I did have a few limitations. I was told not to participate in short term, strenuous, athletic behavior. For example, weight lifting. I was told to stay away from extreme physical contact sports, like football. There were some diet limitations as well. Honestly, I felt like I had a completely normal teenage life after my surgery. I hope this info helps :)
