Dear Jeanette,
God bless you! I will keep you in my prayers as you face these next challenges. I do not want to cause you more churn, but just in case it helps... I wanted to share that my husband had minimally invasive mitral valve repair surgery at Cleveland Clinic, and unfortunately, his mitral valve started severe leaking again after 9 months. Fortunately, at this time he is asymptomatic. We had one of the best surgeons there for that surgery; sometimes things just don't stay fixed. We also were not able to get a firm reason for the re-leak. After all that, I discovered that some hospitals claim to have better diagnostics, including a 3D echo. I believe that Mt. Sinai hospital in NY has it. 3D echo will be our plan when my husband's re-surgery is needed.

Hi Jeanette, sorry to hear you are having such a problem regarding the heart valve. I am waiting for a date for surgery at Cleveland Clinic. I have been diagnosed with severe aorta stenosis. Was in hospital for a week with CHF. While there they did all testing to see if I qualified for the TAVR procedure. I did since I have COPD and other health issues. I have all the symptoms. Short of breath, swollen ankles and feet plus extreme fatigue. Dr Navia is my surgeon and Dr White is interventional cardiologist.
I don't know whether they could help you but they do high risk surgery. And I assume that's what you need. I will continue to pray for you. We know that God is in control.

Jeanette Davidson Hi Judy~
It's quite a process isn't it? Thank you for your support I really appreciate it. I have contacted Dr Svensson's office and will be preparing a packet to send to them. They'll get back to me and guide me from there. Sorry to hear about all the symptoms you're having. I have a fatigue as well and some shortness of breath and I'm trying to make the most of every day. I'm back to doing some counseling and enjoying my family. It surely is anxiety producing and for me disappointing that my valve didn't last longer, but I have a lot of faith. God will watch over both of us. Stay in touch and let me know how you are coming along. God bless 💓😘

Judy Stokes Hi Jeanette. Finally got a date for surgery. July 18 at Cleveland Clinic. The will do TAVR procedure. I m happy in a way that I can get it over and move on with my life. The waiting is horrible. Every emotion is there even though I have a strong faith I still need reassurance. Hope you have gotten things together and sent to CC. . They are great but sometimes it takes awhile as they are really busy! I found that out. Keep in touch. Prayers. Judy

I am very happy to see my original surgeon today. I still have a tremendous amount of trust , faith, and respect in him.It is still extremely difficult for them to read my reports. He and my cardiologist have agreed to change some medication and try to keep me in a holding pattern temporarily. They shared with me that I am not in any immediate danger and we are seeking other experts to look at the studies. Feeling extremely hopeful, grateful, and more at peace today. Thank you my heart brother for all your love and support !💓💓💓

Hey Jeanette - I am so interested to hear what your diagnosis will be and how the doctors wish to treat you. I also have a 'babe' aortic valve (April 2015). My journey was certainly not textbook and it looks like yours will also be out of the norm. Thanks for keeping us updated. Praying for guidance for your doctors and peace for you.
Jeanette Davidson Please continue to stay in touch and thx for finding me. In a holding pattern for right now💓
Jeanette Davidson I remember you and your story and I hope you are doing well!😘

Hi Jeanette, I have just passed my 5year anniversary of aortic valve replacement and had my annual check up. My consultant has told me previously that I still have a pronounced murmur but he now tells me that my new (tissue) valve is leaking! . I am now awaiting echo and other tests to establish the severity of the problem and he has warned me that repeat surgery is likely to be sooner rather than later. I was petrified by the prospect of surgery fiurst time around and my recovery was long and not smooth. I sm not sure I can go through all that again. I really admire your positive outlook and wish you well in whatever the future holds for you.
By the way, I live in UK but would love to follow your progress.

Jeanette Davidson BARBARA.... I get you sister!
It is all pretty frightening and scary especially when our valves are expected to last longer than they do. Mine should've lasted about 12 they told me. However they have made so much progress on the non-invasive procedures and are so much less traumatizing than what we had first time around. Please stay in touch I love the connections .

Hi Jeanette. Responding to your post from a couple days ago. I had AVR in Aug 2015, tissue valve. Around this time last year started getting short of breath, especially on walks but sometimes at rest, which felt like my bad symptoms just before surgery. Turns out I had some inflammation of my respiratory tract (never had had allergies, asthma, or such symptoms ever). Had an unscheduled echo b/c of this--all normal. My GP ended up prescribing some meds (incl. inhaler) which I took for a week; symptoms went away, I stopped the meds, and symptoms haven't returned. The point is, there are other reasons besides your heart you might be having symptoms. Pollen counts where I am in central FL are high now, and this might be a factor...Also, I was told post surgery I still had a murmur, but obviously one much less serious than pre-surgery. I believe this is not uncommon--that people might still have a (benign) murmur after surgery. Get checked out by your doctors so you can find out for certain what is going on. I wish you well!
