Hello Glenn! I'm way older than you, 73 now, but in October 2024 I had a successful mitral valve repair. I was asymptomatic, so the need for surgery was a shocker. Everyone recuperates on their own schedule. For me, that meant I was most myself during the mornings, and napped off and on afternoons. I've always been a morning person. This lasted for several months. Then I did 3 months of cardiac rehab. I still felt tired, but was then diagnosed in March with hypothyroidism. The resulting meds helped with my fatigue. Pack Your Patience! And it's really one day at a time. Double check any work you do as your brain and attention to detail may not be functioning as sharply. I had fentanyl when they put me out and it took awhile for me to feel like I was past it. Be good to yourself during. your recovery - be your own best friend!
