Hi Ericka, Hope you are feeling better! In October it will be 5 years since I had my BAV surgery at Northwestern. It gets better fairly fast. No laughing. Lol. I'm from Barrington so if you have any question feel free to ask? No dumb questions and do your cardiac rehab it helps, great for your both body and mind health. Good Luck, Rick

God Bless You, Erika. I had AVR on March 3, was out on the morning of the 6th! Doing great a little over two months later, and I'm sure you will also. Take the rehab program, if possible, once you're physically ready ... it's healthy and very uplifting.

Ericka- You made a comment in one of your earlier posts about feeling like you were getting "hugs" and I want to add another dozen or so from me tonight, the night before you head in for your surgery to take with you- And I would like to think that as you are waking up from surgery those "air" hugs are surrounding you from myself and all of the people in our heart community whose prayers are right beside those hugs and will be there as you enter into your recovery as well. Go in with confidence and know that the people who perform these surgeries are special people with the focus on mending your heart and helping you move forward with your life a much healthier Lady. Take care and looking forward to reading how your are doing when you can manage!
