Today the day before surgery, I learned that Dr. G sees open heart surgery as the best way to minimize a stroke. so, tomorrow we go with that. Thanks for writing. Lori

Hi Ginny, I should have mentioned that I also made sure I had a strong core & legs going into my surgery. I knew I wouldn't be able to use my arms to pull myself up, or, push myself up after surgery. Try to get as strong as you can.... Read more.

Good advice, thanks Denise. I'm in good shape, but will emphasize core and leg exercises over the next 3 months. Guess that's one benefit of my waiting period - time to get stronger!
