Thank you for the well wishes! My surgery consisted of a repair to my unicuspid aortic valve (now bicuspid), and a repair of an ascending aortic aneurysm. My aortic root was and is still healthy.
I didn’t have any major complications post-op. Like most OHS patients, I experienced severe chest pain (muscular and skeletal) during the first 4-5 months of the healing process. Months 5-12 have been intermittent pain that also involves my neck and right shoulder.
I do experience pre-ventricular contractions (PVC) that my surgeon and cardiologist determined as benign. I don’t drink caffeine and rarely drink alcohol in an attempt to avoid PVCs.
Feel free to let me know if you have additional questions = ) Having the support of fellow patients has really helped me through this journey!
