Diane Esposito I’m so glad you’re doing well. I was thinking of you also because I think I remember you commenting that your sternotomy pain was worse at two weeks; mine is too, though the actual incision is healing nicely. I’m having some irregular rhythms too which I guess can happen after surgery but it makes me nervous. I’ve got an echocardiogram coming up on Monday so I’ll mention it again.

Kevin Bradley Claire, so am I. I’ve been pretty strong up to this point, but the last few days have kicked my butt! As I left my office today to start my medical leave and telling my coworkers I will see them soon it kinda hit me in the gut. As I drove home my mind tortured me thinking if I would return. I constantly jump on this site to read about everyone and that help me to get back to a happy positive place. You are right, we will be ok and I will do my best to post on here as soon as I can as well as to check on you and everybody else. Keep your head up and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Sometimes it does get overwhelming and it seems so surreal. Just take it one step at a time. One foot in front of the other. And you will get to the day of the surgery and before you know it, the risk will be behind you. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

I suggest not using Dr. Google to research everything you can. That is the same way I am and it drove me bat crap crazy. Stick to this website and the information here. Listen to the people here and read the journals as they can relate to what we are going through. Ever since I kicked the google I am so much more happier. Listen to your surgeons and cardiologists since every person is different and every body is different. They see the images and test results and can read them way better than we can. TRUST in them and TRUST in God that he will heal us. I found this commercial funny cause totally what I do.

At the of age 51, had an aortic root and aortic valve replaced 18 years ago at Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles. Born with a bicuspid valve. 14 relatives passed away before their 65 birthday -sudden death. Thank God I had no children. I maintain an 18 year spreadsheet showing my blood tests, drugs and part numbers. I keep this in my glove box of my car. Good Luck and keep my in touch.
