Heavens, you are amazing! You're right, waiting and thinking about it makes it all the more difficult. Try to keep busy, try not to talk about it and find fun things to do if you feel well enough. I know what you are going through and it's certainly tough but you simply must just put one foot in front of the other. There are some audio feedback tapes I listen to which were positive and calming. I have used them before several surgeries and breezed through all. I just put my ear phones in before bed and listen up. Her name is Jane Ehrman. She has a website and the audio has the word surgery in its title. It really helps. I think you can download and listen to it on your iphone but there are several other options for listening.

Liz Draeger I can’t imagine going through this twice. OMG. Listen to pre surgery tapes, find a neck pillow and ask your doctor if you can take something for anxiety. I took before and after surgery. Helped a lot. My surgery was complicated. You too will have the best medical in the world so knowing that, enjoy your family and friends, get everything ready and stay distracted. If you are able (and you may not) can you walk on a treadmill to help prepare? Ask your cardiologist. Be in the best shape possible! If you want to talk let me know.
