Hi Bob. The 5k for Lisa was cancelled for this year as I and Lisa's family just did not have the time and will to make it happen. It has been some very difficult months and the planning for such an event was just beyond us at this time. We are looking to hold the event next year if all goes as planned, but I have no idea right now if this worthwhile event will ever take place, as I don't know how much longer I will be staying in Lincoln. I am glad to see that you are doing well and god bless. John

Bob M Truly, I was amazed that they had a therapy dog in the ICU. That is why I didn't post the photo that day. It seemed strange. Then, I saw the other photos with tubes and IVs, and I thought it was time to share how quickly those type of photo can be converted to sitting in a chair with a dog within 24 hours of surgery. God bless and rise up!

Peggy Pauley Bob, I know the peace of which you speak. My surgery is the day after yours and when I was at church this morning the songs my choir director
picked were picked to minister not only to the whole congregation but also to me. Last week one of the praise team songs that was sung went like this, "my heart is your hand, my heart is in your hand." I thought yes Jesus literally my heart is in your hand. God is so good. Know that you whole
heart family will be praying for you!

Bob, thank you for checking on me! How thoughtful you are! I have escaped the midwest cold and I am finishing rehab on the beach in Florida at my daughter's place. I am feeling great-walking about 2 miles a day and doing water aerobics 5 days a week. I cannot thank my heavenly Father enough for his great grace and healing. I hope you are doing well also. Let me know please. I enjoy your postlngs. I only have my small tablet with me so typing is a little slow.

I am not yet pinned down a date for the memorial 5k for Lisa, but I am leaning toward June so that my 2 boys can run the race and Lisa's daughter will be able to be there as well, as she graduates from Mizzou in May. I thank you very much for your prayers as some days that's all that seems to get me thru the day. Training for the 5k is going to be hard both physically and emotionally but memories of the joy that Lisa got from running all everyone's prayers and support will carry me. I will always question how all of this happened, but in the end, our time on Earth is finite and when are time is up, there really is little that you can do. I will notify you of the date of the race and I would very much like to meet you. Take care and God bless

Bob Thank you so very much for your kind words in regard to my loss of Lisa. I still find it hard to believe that that wonderful woman is truly gone and every time I walk into the house, I expect to see her sitting on the couch with her beloved dogs. I will always remember the joy and love that Lisa brought into my life and her memory will never fade. I look out into the back yard and see Lisa mowing the grass wearing an old blue bikini, as she loved the sun. At times the memories and grief bring me to my knees, but support from caring people like you and the truly great memories pick me up. I will always make sure Lisa's legacy of caring and love is remembered and am organizing a memorial 5k in her honor to be run this summer. I have not run since my 20's, but I am going to run every mile of that 5k to honor Lisa, be dammed my creaky knees! Your story is very inspiring to me and Lisa would have so loved to trade messages with you, and I wish you the very best. Lisa too would have been proud of her scar had she had the opportunity to display it to everyone. You take care of yourself and I will continue on my new journey as best that I can. Go bless you and your family.
