I see today is your mitral valve repair. You won’t see this for a few days but wanted to wish you well and hope your recovery isn’t too difficult! I am coming up to 5 months post op. It hasn’t been easy. This is a great forum to ask about symptoms and compare notes to help you through it!

April, I have a very similar story. My PCP noticed a murmur during my annual physical in August. The followup echo found severe MR. I'm scheduled for a mini thoracotomy on 2/10 also. The plan is to repair the valve. I'm at Brigham and Women's in Boston. Dr. Ashraf Sabe. I will be thinking of you tomorrow morning. I hope it everything goes beautifully!

Hi April! I was also diagnosed in September with MR severe with Left Atrium Enlargement. Surgery will hopefully be in about 3 weeks. I will be praying for you that you surgery is successful and you return to a very healthy normal life. I have been watching many YouTube videos and I am amazed how successful MV repair is with a very low complication rate. Best of Luck, you will do great :)
