As I was planning Michele\'s birthday party (my BFA), I couldn\'t have felt better..I\'d lost 40 pounds, and hadn\'t been sick or had a MS spell in awhile.
Then..the day came, October 29, and although it was warm out...it wasn\'t unbearable, but you wouldn\'t know it to look at me. I was decorating and getting things ready for her party, and about an hour in I was so hot - and sweat was pouring and I mean pouring from my head. My hair was soaked, and nothing I could do would cool me down. I would prevail though...as NOTHING would make me not have everything perfect for her. She does so much for everyone else, and I wanted her birthday to be special.
On the way home, I told my husband that I was going to swing into the emergency room of the hospital we were passing to see if they were busy, and if not I was going to have them check my blood pressure. I was sure that I could tell from the parking lot that there would be too many cars and I would go home....NOT..
the parking lot was empty. So I went in.
The receptionist took me right to the back, the nurse listened to my heart and started practically ripping my blouse off.
After spending a week in the hospital, I was now the confused and freaked out about my new diagnosis of A-fib, caused by a mital valve disfunction of some kind. So to get my head on straight about this - I went to my regular doctor, who is the best. She does not pull any punches. She tells me how is is and talks to me - not in words that make no sense to a layman.
She scheduled some further testing, and referred me to a cardiologist. That was the beginning of my journey.
