Robert's Profile

Rob was diagnosed with a heart murmur when he was a child due to rheumatic fever. He has been told that the aortic valve would have to be replaced at some point. He was diagnosed with COPD about 10 years ago and has been doing very well in it not progressing. The time has come for the aortic valve to be replaced. It is rather shocking to hear the time is here, when for years it was in the distance. He went through the preliminaries to determine what all would need to be done to the heart at surgery time and he was told the arteries are beautiful. That statement was wonderful, what a gift. Now we have the surgery date of 3/14/12 in Albuquerque, NM. As the day nears there is more anxiety.
