Thanks so much for the blog. Along with your excellent book, it&#039;s been a great help to my wife, who had her aortic valve replaced here in Paris, France nearly three weeks ago. She&#039;s doing fine, and is now in a maison de repos for cardio-rehab. The only setback has been some persistant episodes of palpitations the last three days, which the doctors are controlling with medication.

I was interested, however, that you describe Mayor Koch&#039;s surgery as &quot;challenging&quot;. My wife&#039;s French surgeon - bless him - when we asked him about the &quot;challenging&quot; nature of his work, replied with great sang-froid that it was never challenging, simply a case of taking time and care and making sure all the protocols were observed.

These guys are very cool.</description>
