"Dr. Roselli and his team at Cleveland Clinic were amazing. He performed a "redo open heart surgery" as I had to have my aortic root and valve replaced 29 years ago at John Hopkins. After 29 years, the scar tissue and aortic stenosis required another open heart surgery.

After much research, I fortunately selected and was seen by Dr. Roselli. He had to replace my aortic valve, clean the large amount of scar tissue around the aortic root, and enlarge the root as they were putting in a larger valve than the previous one and put in a new aortic arch as well as repair my tricuspid valve.

Dr. Roselli and his team have a skill set above and beyond the other surgeons we were considering. He and his team also had excellent bedside manner always took the time to talk and LISTEN.

I spent 2 weeks at Cleveland Clinic and the entire staff from parking attendants, red coats, house keeping, technicians, nurses and doctors were truly outstanding and caring. I am 74 years old and fully recovering."

"Dr. Roselli is extremely competent and very good with answering questions and concerns. In my opinion he is one of the world's best. I gave him my concerns and wanted him to be sure to repair my aortic valve if at all possible. He said that he would, but that is a call he has to make during the surgery.

In the end, he tightened up and repaired the valve (technically: sub-commissural plication of L/N and R/N commissures to reduce annulus, debridement of raphe), and replaced my aortic aneurysm with a 28 mm hemashield graft.

"Dr. Roselli is the world's best surgeon, and I was fortunate to have him for my open heart surgery. I had everything performed at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.

After a great deal of research, I made an appointment with Dr. Eric Roselli at the Cleveland Clinic for an evaluation, and he told me the aneurysm was ready for surgery and to have it the procedure within about six months. So I chose October 28, 2021. Two days prior to surgery they did a heart catheterization, and they found I also had a 90% blockage, what the catheterization surgeon called a “Widowmaker“. So now my concern was, would they be able to replace my aortic valve, replace my aorta, perform a bypass - all in one operation. I asked the surgeon, and the answer was “well of course, we do it all the time”.

Surgery was “textbook perfect“ according to Dr. Roselli and now over one year later I am 100% recovered. I am so fortunate and thankful to still be around - and feeling great. And I am fortunate for those around me that were there and are here to see me through this, cared for me, and helped me through the recovery.

"Dr. Roselli made the extra effort to meet with me and my wife for the pre-operation meeting at 2 p.m. even though he had just been in a four hour emergency surgery and hadn't even had time to get lunch. My surgery was scheduled for early afternoon but was delayed by complications in his morning operation, but Dr. Roselli still took the time to update my wife and daughter as the surgery was closing. The pathology report on the section of aorta that was replaced shows marked loss and fragmentation of elastic lamellae with areas of lamellar necrosis, so it was a good thing he took care of the aneurysm when he did. My recovery was relatively easy; I was at the maximum exercise levels three weeks after surgery and was back to my pre-operative workout levels within three months. I've had no problems in the three years since the procedure."

"I'm a 55 year old female who had a congenital VSD Repair at age 5. I also had a congenital bicuspid aortic valve which became symptomatic resulting in severe aortic stenosis requiring an aortic valve replacement.

Our surgeon of choice was Dr. Eric Roselli. He was our third surgical opinion and as the saying goes, the third time is a charm! Dr. Roselli is a gentleman and a scholar! He has an excellent skill set as a cardiac surgeon ("great plumber") and just as importantly, he has great interpersonal skills. He is patient, kind and bright with a great sense of humor, willing to answer all of the questions my husband and I had in a graceful manner.

After the surgery, he again spoke to my husband and family to inform them of my condition and how the surgery went. The same evening of my surgery, the breathing tube was removed. The next morning, I was out of bed in a chair and later discharged to the telemetry unit in a spacious private room where my husband could stay with me overnight in a pullout futon bed!

My pain, which was minimal, was controlled with a Fentanyl PCA pump and then with oral pills. I was discharged exactly one week from my date of surgery. I had a great experience throughout!

Again, once home, I rarely had to take pain meds. Full 9 inch sternotomy scar healed with self absorbing hidden sutures that did NOT have to be removed. Cardiac hotline available 24/7 with RNs and doctors to answer and treat any concerns that may arise once you are discharged home.

Dr. Roselli and his experienced medical and nursing team thoroughly impressed me! (I am a nursing professional myself!) "Met Dr Roselli about one week before surgery and once during the recovery period, then six months after surgery. He is a young man that is very confident in his abilities and is willing to answer any question at any time. The results of my surgery were outstanding, with 5 days of hospital stay at the Cleveland Clinic and recovery at home. While the first week was difficult the rest of the time until today has been nothing short of fantastic. His surgery was minimally invasive, replacing the Aortic Valve (severe stenosis) with a bovine valve and replacing the ascending aorta with a dacron tube due to a weak and distended section. While recovery was slow at start, today September 19th I do 100% of all the things I did before and more. I no longer have dizzy spells, or near fainting, but am able to lift and work at high levels of effort. My scar is barely visible and getting my daily dose of sun to replenish my Vitamin D is another benefit I enjoy now that I did not before surgery. Dr Roselli is quietly reserved but a fantastic surgeon and I would HIGHLY recommend him and the Clinic. I live in Cleveland so it was an easy decision for me, besides he was a reviewing contributor to Adams book and that is how I got his name and then did my research. Finally, I had no need for rehabilitation due to my long time use to taking high quality, pharmaceutical grade vitamins and 10 treatments of Chelation Therapy before surgery, I just went home and healed quickly. God Does Bless. I am now 69 and feel like a forty year old quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings."
