Did they leave any pacemaker wires in you? After my first surgery they had to cut the wires off at my skin level (they left them threaded through my chest wall because I was having PVCs, and they weren't sure I wouldn't need external pacing for a while). Those wires... Read more.
Thanks for your response. No, no pacemaker for me. The wires are inside my ribs cage.
I had tachycardia wires that were cut too long and are now poking me frm the inside out.... they say they cannot be cut or removed due to the other end being in my heart?? So I have to wait for my body to encapsulate them??

Had a surgery on Oct.30 with replacing aorta aneurysm and repair valve as well. I'm struggling a bit with recovery with my cough and speech as my words seems to have a hiccups. Soooo frustrated and not sure if I was ready for this. It is almost 4 weeks after... Read more.
My father lost his voice, to only a whisper. The surgeon blamed the anesthesiologist, and the anesthesiologist blamed the surgeon. One thought nerves were cut, and the other thought it was the tube that damaged the vocal cord. It took several months to heal, and he was fine. My thought... Read more.
Bumps during recovery can/are frustrating. I'm sorry to hear your voice and speech are problematic. As you have, continue working with your medical team. Progress can be slow, but each bit of progress helps get you to the finish line.
