Well my surgery was 7 months ago and I'm doing great! I was so surprised to only stay in the hospital 3 days and never took anything for pain after day 2. I do think I have a high pain tolerance though. I think this was one of the best... Read more.
Glad to hear you are doing well. You are an inspiration to me and others facing surgery.
Awesome! you'll get more and more comfortable as you move along in your progress. Congrats to you, Sheri!

Everyone has been so positive and encouraging that I'm almost excited to be doing this! I've been sleeping great and trusting God for the outcome! I think my friends are more worried about this than I am. Praying for an uncomplicated surgery and a quick recovery. Thanks to all the... Read more.

In a short time it will be but a distant memory and you'll be on your way to a good recovery
You are probably in surgery now. Sending a prayer your way!

After having the heart cath the other day, I about decided I didn't want to do this anymore! Now that I'm over it I realize it wasn't that bad. I'm just not use to doctor visits and getting stuck. ( I hate needles) Looking forward to having this behind me... Read more.
Looking back I wished I did it sooner I hung on for two years because I wasn't symptomatic but feeling the way I do two months post-surgery I know the difference now the whole procedure isn't as bad as it seems but the anxiety I understand

Amen sister. I am scheduled for 17 October. Prayers your way.
Good luck to you, i go on the 16th of October and fully understand, prayers are with you.
I had a poor cath experience. Looking back, I think the cath was worse than the surgery & recovery. Even if that's not the case for you, as soon as you wake up from surgery you're on the road to recovery, right? It's all about attitude!
Yesssss."..... Amen sister also..... I was terrified of the angiogram last week. I have been fretting over it for a year postponing. Now on to the bigger deal..... I am October 17,
While I don't think the cath was worse than the surgery, I do think a bad case of the flu *IS* worse than the surgery in a different way.
Eric had his on the 20th. Not going to lie I was a hot mess with anxiety for him . My doctor gave me sleeping pills and Benadryl but still no sleeping because of the anxiety. We are 15 days and he is doing awesome. He was diagnosed at birth... Read more.
I must say that it wasnt my favorite procedure, the hospital I was in does it with no sedative which surprised me. I was nervous at the time but looking back, like everything else, the fear was the worst of it. So, another procedure behind you and now onward and... Read more.
Sheri, the waiting is the worst part. Our imagination is very creative and it really does a number on us..I was terrified myself, but though its no walk in the park, its doable and you will do fine.. just have faith in your doctors. this will all be behind you... Read more.
Joining all of you on 10/17 for my OHS and the anxiety is only increasing. I also have not been symptomatic (other than crazy weight fluctuations) since originally referred to a cardiologist in December 2015. My overwhelming thought since then has been "How can I need OHS being so young... Read more.
Absolutely agree- waiting is the worst part! I waited almost a year for my surgery & was pretty much a nervous wreak the entire time. Having it behind you is the best feeling! Best wishes Sheri, & all those awaiting surgery - onward to recovery!
A lot of my friends think I'm crazy for doing this since I have no symptoms, but I like to be proactive. Who wants to be on vacation and have chest pains and shortness of breath, then it becomes rushed and you don't have time to do as much research.... Read more.
That is what counts, we all get to make our own decisions and should be happy with them, take care of youb👍
